 My Campaign:

Racism is Anti-American.

That Long Trek will ride again!

Cape Flattery to Everett to Portland to Ashland to Pueblo to Wichita to Miami

An homage to a hero, speaking in my hometown 60 years ago.  How far we’ve come. How far to go.

What Is That Long Trek?

Mission Statement

I am raising money for a The Jackie Robinson Foundation because I imagine a different world. We can each positively change the rate of change by spreading a message of unity as far we can, which for That Long Trek means from the Northwestern most point in the contiguous  United States, to the Southeastern most point.

I am raising money for a The Jackie Robinson Foundation because I imagine a different world. We can each positively change the rate of change by spreading a message of unity as far we can, which for That Long Trek means from the Northwestern most point in the contiguous  United States, to the Southeastern most point.

America is for everyone.  It was founded on this principle, and so we must reinforce it.  I hope the money I raise will help enlighten young people, and continue the quest for knowledge, which I am convinced will lead us to equality.  That’s why I am doing this.  It’s for me, and it’s for my country!  I love the United States of America, but I love it more when we actively reinforce our values: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness, independent of race, religion, or gender.

We hold these truths to be self evident.

That Other Long Trek

That Long Trek is a reincarnation of That Other Long Trek, which traversed the North American west, from LA to Fairbanks, and once owned The Greeley Hill in Portland, Oregon. That Other Long Trek was stolen.  That Long Trek (pictured) has replaced it.   That Long Trek will soon traverse a path from Cape Flattery, Washington to Miami, Flor

That Long Trek is a reincarnation of That Other Long Trek, which traversed the North American west, from LA to Fairbanks, and once owned The Greeley Hill in Portland, Oregon. That Other Long Trek was stolen.  That Long Trek (pictured) has replaced it.   That Long Trek will soon traverse a path from Cape Flattery, Washington to Miami, Florida.  The route is chosen because it connects the most Northwestern point in the Contiguous United States to the most Southeastern point.

This ride is 4200 Miles, in honor of Jackie Robinson - Number Forty Two

The Rider

The Cause

John Romano is a structural aerospace engineer who works for Blue Origin in Seattle, Washington.  He and his childhood friend Eddie have ridden on That Other Long Trek for months, traveling the country unsupported while raising funds for causes they care about.

In general the theme is: Help People and Share an Adventure.

On to the next one!

The Active Roll

The Active Roll

This ride is also a call to action for fellow engineers to further our commitment to lifetime learning, by taking an Active Roll and driving what we learn back into the communities that need it most.
